New study: Dust, warming portend dry future for the Colorado River

NOAA’s Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder finds that reducing desert dust in the Rocky Mountains may be essential in shoring up water supplies in the face of climate change. The dust is currently increasing the rate at which snow melts, leaving less water for later in the year.
