Board members believe his experience on Colorado River issues make him the right choice.
The Southern Nevada Water Authority Board of Directors selected John Entsminger, currently the agency’s deputy general manager, to serve as general manager when Pat Mulroy retires in on February 6. The board quickly dispensed the question by unanimous vote at its January 16 board meeting.
The Clark County Commission had already chosen Entsminger to head the Las Vegas Valley Water District at its January 7 meeting. However because of procedural questions related to the posting of the agenda, the vote will be retaken at the January 21 meeting.
While a few vocal citizens objected to the agencies selecting Entsminger without first a conducting a nationwide search, he does have the support of major community organizations.
